Process for Momo Ayase
The drawing of Momo Ayase was used to practice a different style of posing. The character in the show describes herself as “Gyaru” which is a Japanese subculture of fashion and style. They are often seen in kitschy fashion and using slang terms in a different dialect. When researching I found that those under the subculture have a specific way of posing and I wanted to practice that as well as practicing the style.
Process for Jane Prentiss
Jane Prentiss is a character in the popular horror anthology podcast The Magnus Archives created by Jonathan Sims and Alexander J. Newall. Because it is a podcast, there is no official art for this character so I decided to challenge myself in coming up with a concrete design in my style. In the podcast she is only described a woman with long black hair, a red dress and skin covered in holes similar to a hive.
Process for Helen Distortion
Helen Distortion is another character in the popular horror anthology podcast The Magnus Archives created by Jonathan Sims and Alexander J. Newall. Similarly to Jane Prentiss, I wanted to challenge myself in creating a concrete design for the character. In the show, being a part of the Distortion is to reflect insanity as well as being shown through patterns so I made sure to reflect those in her design as well as staying true to her description.
